Gents: Today in class, we did the following:
- Took a brief quiz over Language of Composition pages 1-20
- Completed Microscopic Skills #2 over Chapter 5 / Machinery in Grapes
- Introduced Joliffe's Rhetorical Framework (PDF)
- Reviewed pages 1-20 in Language of Composition by analyzing a letter by Mary Ewald, whose son was captured in Iraq, on a Prezi by Mr. Eble (link).
- Analyzed our own rhetoric in our apple signs
- Re-Read the selection of Schlosser's "In the Strawberry Fields" (PDF); using PDF annotator, highlight Logos in yellow, Ethos in green, and Pathos in pink.
- Write a blog entry in which you analyze Schlosser's rhetoric in "In the Strawberry Fields." How does he employ the three appeals to achieve his purpose? On what appeals does he rely the most? Be sure to provide specific quotes.
- Be sure to visit your assigned mentor group for Writing Center (Excel) by the start of next week; you can expect some CP2 seniors to visit you for reviewing their College Essays.
