Gents: After an AP-style quiz over the opening of Thoreau's On the Duty of Civil Disobedience, y'all engaged in a spectacular, thought-provoking seminar over that text (my notes are located here). Next class, y'all will receive the graded AP quizzes, and you'll have the chance to demonstrate your prowess in correcting yourself by explaining the correct answers! We'll also complete our seminar over Thoreau's text, expanding and refining a bit before we delve into King's "Letter from Birmingham Jail" next week.
For homework, please complete the revision of your veterans editorial, as well as the post-writing analysis; please print it and submit it to me (stapled). Please don't be late to class because you're at the printer!
Also, because we'll continue our seminar next class, your seminar reflection won't be due until Monday, when your Toulmin Analysis for your quarter project will also be due.
Finally, I didn't complete a blog entry for our class on 11/26, when we read three-fourths of Wink's "The Third Way." As we read, we discussed his use of counterargument and approached the topic of peacemaking from a Catholic perspective via Wink's socio-historical analysis of Christ's words.
