Gents: Today, I had the pleasure of seeing both classes of AP Language...what a blessed day, even with November snowfall.
Today, we finished our Faux Veterans Speeches demonstrating fallacies; then, y'all took a quiz over fallacies, followed by a writing exercise using a segment from Dalton Trumbo's Johnny Got His Gun. Finally, we reviewed the Veterans Issue Editorial (see below).
Homework for next class:

Homework for next class:
- Toulmin Resources: Read pages 125-131 in Language of Composition ; also, please review this video from the University of Richmond Writing Center (link)
- Read Wendell Berry's "Why I Am Not Going to Buy a Computer" (PDF) from a Harper's magazine issue in 1988. This is the first reading of our next unit, "Dissenting Voices." As you can probably guess, we'll perform a Toulmin analysis for Berry.
- A4 First Draft: Thursday, November 21.
- B3 First Draft: Friday, November 22.
